As we suspected, nothing major with regard to the infection. The doctors diagnosed it as C Difficile, which is fairly serious (sometimes fatal) infection, often picked up by people in hospitals and nursing homes. The doctors caught it early enough that treatment was pretty easy: fluids, rest, and a change in medication.
Thanks again for your kind thoughts and prayers. It's been a difficult time, and continues to be challenging for my dad.

My first concern was staph- glad to hear it was caught and treatment is underway. Wishes for a (nother) speedy recovery.
